The Ethical Slut, 2nd Edition
Subtitled, "a practical guide to polyamory, open relationships and other adventures," this excellent book presents the idea that being a ”slut” can be fine, and even healthy. It is a road map for exploring the world beyond unisexual monogamy, whether that be committed multi-partner relationships, casual sex, group sex, or another relationship form. Written in a friendly, approachable fashion, this book is certain to set your brain buzzing. A good guide to learning to communicate more effectively with your partner(s), and negotiating multiple partners in a sane and kind way.
The new, updated and expanded second edition of this classic book has a lot to offer for newcomers and long-time fans alike. The old material has been significantly rewritten and reorganized and new material has been added. There's now more information aimed at couples, those interested in opening up an existing relationship, and people who are celibate or asexual. The authors have included exercises you can do by yourself or with partners that get you thinking and talking about important issues. There's also an updated and better organized resource list.
Both authors explain that they have more professional and personal experience than they did 10 years ago (plus, Janet Hardy, formerly writing as "Catherine Liszt," no longer uses her pseudonym). Their experience shows in the better quality of the writing and the wider range of issues covered. Those who have read the original Ethical Slut may still benefit from reading the new edition because of the new information and exercises. Highly Recommended.
